The paysafecard is primarily a prepaid card that shoppers can use to make online payments. Shoppers do not have to enter personal information or bank details when they pay.

Since only licensed casinos domiciled in Switzerland may offer online gaming services, access to gaming services not licensed in Switzerland by organisers that are domiciled or resident abroad is blocked (Article 86 of the Money Gaming Act).
